[A] Budget: Looking for proposal
[B] Scope of Service:
Vendor needs to provide for on-demand Scheduling Software and Hardware for the pilot project to include a fleet of 5-12 handicap lift equipped vehicles to the government authority located in New Orleans, LA.
- This Contract will include an option to allow the RTA the right to purchase/install vehicle equipment and software for up to fifty-five additional vehicles. The RTA is aware that costs may increase for equipment, and therefore a price adjustment for unit cost may be negotiated between the two parties on an annual basis. Documentation of cost increase is to be provided to the RTA by the Contractor. The contractor will identify these increases at the time of notification and inform the RTA in writing of the changes.
- The selected software is expected to deliver the capability to automate real time scheduling functions, while increasing the efficiency (on average 15%-20%) of service, increasing the accuracy of data, and minimizing time spent on administrative and reporting functions. The key program attributes should include client registration, scheduling, dispatching, trip brokering, verification, invoicing, reporting, geo-coding, mapping, eliminate paper manifests, reduce the number of routes and vehicles while maintaining service levels. The system shall encompass on time performance and ridership information. The system shall also afford turn by turn directions, calculate drive time and mileage, and visually display vehicles, trips and routes. An open architecture is required to enable future integration with add-on technologies and coordination of trips among multiple providers using varied technology platforms. Specifically, this software must be able to integrate with Trapeze, which is the current fixed route scheduling software package. This software preferably, should have the ability to interface with numerous other varying software products.
- The software that RTA is seeking should safeguard the agency against the occurrences of ADA denials. The software shall guarantee zero denials and a viable solution to provide customers with the scheduled pickup times when capacity constraints are reached. The software shall have the functionality to manage daily changes proactively, as well as manage vehicle capacity as trip demands change. The software shall respond automatically to road conditions such as but not limited to traffic congestion, weather, and vehicle breakdowns or failures.
