(1) Vendor needs to provide professional development in supporting immigrant students and engagement with families service to the government authority located in Louisiana.
- Develop working knowledge of current context of immigration and English Learners in social political climate
- Identify needs of and barriers to supporting English Learners - academic and social-emotional obstacles in a school-based setting, lack of post-secondary and work force opportunities, and structural obstacles that exist in a society designed to exclude immigrant children and families
- Develop competency in legal obligations of schools and the rights of ELs & immigrant families
- Training families on technology literacy competencies such as opening and maintaining an email address, completing applications, submitting documents, and searching for necessary resources
- Collect Pre-Series & Post-Series data from assigned schools, including parent and student school-climate surveys, staff awareness surveys, school needs analysis, inventory of assets that support immigrant families.
(2) A virtual pre-proposal meeting will be held on June 2, 2023.
